?A LA RECHERCHE D'UN NOUVEL ORDRE ÉCONOMIQUE MONDIAL. LA GRANDE-BRETAGNE : UNE PARTICIPATION RÉTICENTE, par FRANÇOISE DE LA SERRE
Les réticences initiales concernant la recherche d'un nouvel ordre économique international ont fait place aujourd'hui à Londres à de nombreuses déclarations en faveur d'une meilleure interdépendance entre pays industrialisés et pays en voie de développement. Mais, en dépit de quelques initiatives ? dont la plus spectaculaire est la proposition d'un accord général sur les produits de base ? la politique britannique tend davantage vers un aménagement du système existant que vers une réforme d'ensemble des relations économiques internationales. Dans cette optique, la lutte contre la récession et le maintien d'un volume suffisant d'échanges mondiaux l'emporte sur une refonte du système monétaire tandis qu'une stratégie fondée sur le commerce et l'aide multilatérale tient lieu de réforme de structures plus radicale.
