Pour analyser les relations entre la communication et la dualité public/privé, deux modèles théoriques sont en concurrence. Le modèle de la dissociation projette une définition technique de la communication sur une conception empirique de la dualité. Le modèle de la consubstantialité part de la nature indissociablement langagière et politique de l'homme. La théorie classique réactualisée par H. Arendt et J. Habermas fournit des repères pour comprendre l'histoire de l'espace public et sa dégradation dans la société de masse. Ces modèles théoriques génèrent deux discours possibles sur la libération de la communication. Du premier dérive le mythe de la société informationnelle où les innovations technologiques libèrent la communication de toute contrainte au prix d'une dilution de la qualité public/privé. Du second procède la critique de la rationalité technique et la théorie de l'agir communicationnel qui réhabilite l'espace public. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |

To analyse the relations between communication and the public/private duality, we have two competitive theoretical models. The model of dissociation projects a technical définition of communication on an empirical conception of duality. The model of consubstantiality starts from the indissociably « linguistic » and political nature of mon. The classical theory in its new versions presented by H. Arendt and J. Habermas provides guidelines for understanding the history of public space and its degradation in mass society. These theoretical models generale two possible discourses on the freeing of communication. From the first proceeds the myth of the information society, in which technological innovations free communication from all constraints at the price of a dilution of the public/private duality. From the second proceeds the critique of technical rationality and the theory of communicational action which rehabilitates public space. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
