La justification du libéralisme selon F. von Hayek. François Sicard.
Selon Hayek, un ordre libéral ne peut être maintenu que par l'adhésion permanente et inconditionnelle à certains principes. Cependant, pour justifier cette position, il utilise des arguments évolutionnistes qui entraînent diverses difficultés, notamment lorsqu'il s'agit d'expliquer pourquoi les principes libéraux ont été en partie abandonnés, et d'établir la possibilité de leur restauration intégrale. Hayek avance également une justification négative de son libéralisme radical en s'appuyant sur une critique de la « démocratie de marchandages » et de la notion de « justice sociale », mais certains aspects de cette critique semblent incompatibles avec l'ensemble de l'argumentation hayékienne. On peut donc douter de la cohérence d'une démarche qui entend, dans un cadre rationaliste, fonder une conception du libéralisme excluant l'interventionnisme réformiste. ?The justification of liberalism according to F. von Hayek. François Sicard.
For Hayek, a liberal order can be maintained only through permanent and unconditional adherence to certain principles. However, to justify this position, he uses evolutionist arguments which raise problems, particularly in trying to explain why liberal principles have been partially abandoned, and in establishing the possibility of their full restoration. Hayek also puts forward a negative justification of his radical liberalism through criticism of « bargaining democracy » and of the concept of « social justice ». Certain aspects of this criticism seem to be incompatible with the overall Hayekian argument. There are therefore doubts about the coherence of a method which, in a rationalist framework, founds a concept of liberalism which excludes reformist interventionism. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
