Madeleine Guilbert, Nicole Lowtt and Joseph Creusen : Time-budget comparative inquiry.
In a preceeding article (R. Franc. Social., 6 (3), July-Sept. 1965), the authors exposed a few problems of methodology. As to the results of this inquiry, they show the importance, for men as well as women, of the total time comprising « professional time » « transportation » « work at home », and correlatively the small part of « free time ». This may perhaps explain the almost total absence of cultural or social activities. The stated results of this inquiry justify in fact the method employed (accounting of plural occupations), allowing a more precise appreciation of the « load » of occupation incurred by a particular subject.
