Résumé anglais Edgar Morin : Adolescents in transition. In the community of P. those adolescents subjected to urban influences during their work year spend their holidays in an urban fashion. The old neighbourhood and village clans are being slowly supplanted by groups of school friends, new relations between boys and girls, in new clans. Social origin plays a role of segregation for young people of the higher bourgeois class, young manual workers, young sailors of the little port of P., but not for the sons of rural inhabitants and middle class bourgeois. Outside of work, dancing, drinking, and cars combine to bring to an expanding minority the pleasures of night life. The history from april to november 1965, of a youth comity, grouping a large part of the communitie's adolescents reveals common tendencies as well as heterogeneities among adolescents and throws light on the ambiguous relations between adolescents and adult society. An attempt is made to analyse this situation in relation to the development of an adolescent identity and the integration-segregation of adolescents in the actual development of society.
