Depuis 1960, les recherches-actions se multiplient dans des champs professionnels variés. Elles produisent des connaissances tout en mettant au point des innovations sociales importantes, par l'expérimentation « dans la vie réelle ». Autrement dit, la démarche n'est possible que si l'ensemble des acteurs concernés travaillent ensemble, ce qui suppose que soit abordée la question suivante : comment peut-on, en recherche-action, prôner l'implication et respecter la distanciation ? L'article s'attache à répondre à cette question à l'aide d'un exemple. Celui-ci, analysé, propose deux clés pour que soit respectée une certaine forme de distanciation scientifique : l'organisation d'un « travailleur collectif » et la mise en mémoire par l'écriture... et l'on assiste alors un déplacement de la question initiale. Since 1960, action researches have developed in various professional fields. They bring out knowledge while finalizing important social innovations through experimentation in real life. In other words, this process can exist only if the whole lot of the people concerned work together, which raises the following question : how can one favour implication and respect keeping a certain distance in action research. This article tries to answer this question with the help of an exemple, which, after analysis, proposes two keys so as to respect a certain kind of scientific distanciation : the setting up of a collective work force and the recording through writing. Then one can observe the initial question has been shifted. M R V has been working for over 20 years in the C.U.E.P. University of Sciences of Lille.
