Les médias occidentaux tendent à présenter l'Iran comme un bloc monolithique dont la problématique tourne, d'une part, autour de la lutte de clans pour un pouvoir centralisé et, d'autre part, une confrontation avec les pays occidentaux autour de la question du nucléaire militaire. Pourtant d'autres forces sont à l'œuvre à l'intérieur du pays. La cohérence des frontières, de la religion et la stabilité du pays en tant qu'État constitué depuis des centaines d'années ne doivent pas faire oublier qu'il est peuplé de nombreuses minorités dont les liens qu'ils entretiennent avec le pouvoir central ne sont pas forcément sereins. Par ailleurs, les adversaires de l'Iran n'hésitent pas à soutenir les mouvements indépendantistes ou autonomistes pour fragiliser le pouvoir central. Iran: National Minorities, Centrifuges Forces and Indigenous Breakdowns Occidental medias aim to present Iran as a block where the problematic concerns, on one hand, the struggle of clans for the central power and, on the other hand, the confrontation whith occidental countries around the nuclear military issue. Nevertheless, other forces are working outside and inside the country. The coherence of frontiers, of religion, and the Iran stability as a coherent state from hundred years have not to mask the presence of many minorities from which the links with the centralized state are not absolutely serene. Moreover Iran's adversaries do not hesitate to support the independentists or the autonomists to weaken the central power.
