	Résumé	Engagée depuis 1979 dans une politique d'ouverture économique sur l'extérieur, la Chine populaire a été le premier pays socialiste à mettre en place des zones franches sur son territoire. Shenzhen, la plus importante des quatre zones économiques spéciales chinoises, connaît depuis quatre années un développement économique spectaculaire, qui devrait faire de la zone un pôle d'activité économique important de la Chine méridionale. La situation singulière de Shenzhen, aux portes de Hong-Kong, lui confère un rôle de modèle et d'exemple dans le cadre de la politique d'ouverture aux investissements étrangers. Mais c'est aussi un élément essentiel de la partie engagée par Pékin, sur le futur statut de la colonie britannique de Hong-Kong, à l'horizon 2000. Source : Éditeur (via Persée)
	Résumé anglais	Shenzhen : a special economic zone in socialist China. Having, in 1979, adopted a policy of opening the way to external trade, the people's republic of China is the first of the socialist countries to introduce free trade zones on its territory. Shenzhen, the most important of the four special economic zones in China, has over the past four years been the scene of spectacular economic growth, which should make it a significant centre of economic activity for South China. Shenzhen's unique situation, on Hong Kong's doorstep, gives it a specific role as model for the policy of opening the way to foreign investment. But it is also an essential piece in the strategy to be adopted by Pekin when the future status of the British colony of Hong Kong comes up for decision as we approach the year 2000.
