	Résumé	La Grèce a fait beaucoup de chemin depuis la chute de la dictature des colonels en 1 974. La démocratie s'est consolidée de manière extrêmement pacifique. L'adhésion à l'Union européenne a agi comme un puissant catalyseur à la réforme/modernisation intérieure. L'adaptation aux exigences d'adhésion a été difficile et plutôt douloureuse pour la Grèce. La résistance au changement de certains groupes organisés s'est avérée assez puissante pour retarder le processus d'adaptation de plusieurs années. Les forces de réforme/modernisation ont maintenant pris le dessus, bien qu'il y ait encore beaucoup à faire. Pour la Grèce, l'adhésion à l'UE constitue certainement l'élément le plus important de sa politique intérieure et étrangère. Mais il se trouve que le pays est situé dans un voisinage instable et il doit aussi agir comme une force stabilisatrice dans la région. Source : Éditeur (via Persée)
	Résumé anglais	Greece has moved on a great deal since the fall of the dictatorship of Colonels in 1974. Democracy has been consodlidated in an extremely pacific way. Joining the European Union has been a powerful catalyst to reform and internal modernization but adapting to the demands of accession has been difficult and painful. Resistance to change from certain organized interests has been a powerful factor in slowing down the adaptation process for a number of years. However, the forces for reform and modernization now have the upper hand, although there is still much to do. For Greece, joining the EU has certainly been the most important part of both its internal and external policies. Situated in an unstable region, this country must act as a stabilizing force.
