La manière dont le libéralisme d'outre-Rhin appréhende la recherche d'une médiation entre les principes monarchique et représentatif est conditionnée par ses propres spécificités qui l'éloignent du projet libéral français, c'est-à-dire de l'intention d'édifier un véritable système libéral de pouvoir. Durant le Vormärz, la représentation théorique d'un dualisme gouvernement /peuple et l'interprétation du principe monarchique comme position historique concrète du Prince dominent et altèrent la relation entre l'État et les libéraux allemands. Toutefois, la prééminence reconnue à l'État dans la définition et la garde de l'intérêt général constitue un important point de convergence, dans les années 1830-1840, entre les discours libéraux français et allemand. In Germany, the liberal search for mediation between monarchic principle and representative principle was conditioned by his characteristic specificities who move him away from the french liberal plan to build up a real liberal system of power. During the age of Vormärz, the theoretic comprehension of the government / people dualism and the interpretation of monarchic principle as a concrete historic standing of the King characterize and twist the relation between the state and german liberals. However, in 1830-1840, the recognition of a preeminence of state in the definition of the public good constitute a significant point of convergence between french and german liberal doctrines.
