Résumé anglais F. Kane—~~Female Prolétariat in Sénégal, Town and Country.~~ A comparison between women employed respectively by the BUD plantations and the canned food industry in Dakar. Conditions of employment in town are more regular, with higher salaries, social benefits, and some protection through the action of acknowledged trade-unions. Although the rural workers conditions recall in many respects those of the ~~Lumpenproletariat~~, the resemblances between urban and rural workers are more striking than the différences and the two groups are to be considered as forming a single category, with sex as the most important factor.
