Cet article fait le constat de la non-linéarité de l'augmentation du stock de capital humain à Cuba et remet en cause l'explication néoclassique de la sous-utilisation du facteur éducatif. Deux hypothèses de travail sont avancées : (a) le système éducatif instauré avec la Révolution serait davantage un appareil de formation aux valeurs socialistes que de formation des travailleurs en fonction des besoins immédiats du système productif et (b) l'éducation socialiste serait surtout un moyen de modifier les structures productives et les rapports sociaux. Analysis of the Relationship Between Education and Growth in Cuba (1959-2009) : Direct Impact or Inverse Relationship ? This article makes the observation of nonlinearity of the increase in the stock of human capital in Cuba and calls into question the neo-classic explanation of the underutilization of the factor of education. Two working hypotheses are advanced : (a) the education system founded with the Revolution would be more an apparatus of formation of socialist values rather than of training of the workers according to the immediate needs of the productive system and (b) socialist education would be especially a means of modifying the productive structures and the social relations.
