La formation du champ politique kenyan après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, avec la montée du nationalisme, l'insurrection des Mau-Mau et l'accession à l'indépendance, peut être analysée à partir des concepts de tribalisme politique et d'ethnicité morale, et de la tension qui existe entre eux dans la vie politique et sociale. Une telle lecture permet aussi d'intégrer les classes dominées dans le jeu politique tout en éclairant les enjeux de certains débats sociaux ou moraux jusqu'à aujourd'hui. Moral and Political Argument in Kenya The way the political arena has been framed after the second world war through the growth of the nationalist feelings, the Mau Mau insurrection and the independence could be analyzed using the concepts of political tribalism and moral ethnicity, and the tension between those two notions in the concrete political and social realms.
