Notes on the Eritrean-Ethiopian War The war between Eritrea and Ethiopia, which began in 1998, remains at a dangerous standstill from both a military and diplomatic point of view. This article reviews the background of the present situation, a chronology of the main phases of combat, and the contents of the peace plan put forth by the OAU.
