Conceptual bearings The notion of information governance has evolved over time, broadening its scope: from document to information management and planification and now, governance. Numerous researchers, sociologists, economists, managers and of course information professionals have studied the problem, each illuminating a particular aspect. This article presents different viewpoints that should help with understanding how governance can take root in several types of knowledge, and offers a methodology to integrate these.
