Résumé anglais Dossier: Information professions and “data”: An analysis of a changing world
This year, data are linked, open, big, meta or simply “data”. Caution is required when using the term “data” with its various meanings and objects as different as a value, an information, an element of knowledge. Any such element that can be considered as data is always integrated into something larger that gives it meaning, whether a serial statistic, a table, a list, an abstract or a database. Beyond the term “data”, what counts is the whole picture. With the proliferation of these data groupings, it's important to process them in terms of a strategic vision, of user logic and real-life scenarios based on a broad collaborative framework in which information professionals fully deserve their place.
