Résumé anglais Professions, between traditions and modernity
Over the last thirty years, information professionals have seen a number of their traditional skills overtaken by electronic tools, their function as information mediators called into question. Big Data is going to shake the profession up even further but should also offer some exciting opportunities. Our contributors show us, through classic functions and novel postures, how these professions have (or have not) been affected by this new digital context, and they sketch out some possible future roles for the information professional.
