Fondé sur une étude de la scène de corrida, dans The Sun Also Rises, cet article s'intéresse au mouvement de déviance amenant l'écriture à transmuer l'évidence de la perte en une danse formelle. Indice de mort ou de mutisme, l'errance spatiale et langagière des Américains en exil donne à voir la conversion d'un sentiment de désorientation en sensation d'harmonisation aux mutations du monde. À travers son attention intense et insistante à certains détails anodins, l'écriture réussit à délivrer une expérience du moment. Mais au-delà de son assomption de la blessure ou de la mort en création esthétique, elle instaure une connivence entre les êtres en souffrance. Semblable à cette aficion reliant silencieusement les hommes, d'un seul contact de la main, la danse des mots annonce une reconnaissance. Based on a study of the bullfight scene, in The Sun Also Rises, this article focuses on the movement of deviation leading the text to turn the certainty of loss into a formal dance. As a mark of death and silence, the exiled Americans' spatial and linguistic wandering reveals the conversion of a feeling of disorientation into a sensation of harmonization with the transmutations of the world. Through its intense, constant attention to insignificant details, the novel succeeds in conveying an experience of the moment. However, it not only transforms its wounds or ineluctable death into some aesthetic creation: it also creates a form of connivance between men in despair. Like this aficion silently linking men together, through a mere gesture of the hand, the dancing of words foreshadows some mutual recognition.
