Cet article est un article de synthèse autour de la question des sciences, des techniques et de l'ordre participatif, aujourd'hui et dans l'histoire. Il ne vise pas l'exhaustivité, de toute façon impossible, mais à dire les questions et enjeux majeurs de ce champ. Il définit d'abord ce qui fait l'originalité de ce domaine, il présente ensuite quelques références théoriques et normatives, puis les approches empiriques abordant le surgissement du social ainsi que les études qui portent sur les modes de gestion instituée du différend. The paper is a systematic presentation of the studies that deal with ‘Science, Technology and the Participatory Order' today and in the past. It does not aim at exhaustivity, an impossible project, but at showing what the main stakes are in the field. It starts by defining what the specificity of the field might be, it then suggests four key theoretical (and normative) references, it analyses empirical approaches that deals with the way ‘civil society' takes over the questions, and how institutions try and shape collective solutions.
