À l'aide de la méthode logit conditionnel, cet article tente d'identifier les principaux déterminants des migrations entre les 25 régions métropolitaines de recensement (RMR) canadiennes, ainsi que de la forte concentration des immigrants dans les trois grandes RMR. Les résultats obtenus sont les suivants : - trois variables, Population, Distance et Langue expliquent mieux les migrations entre les 25 RMR ; - la variable Population explique seule la forte concentration des immigrants dans les trois grandes RMR (Toronto, Montréal et Vancouver). The determinants of destination choice : an econometric analysis of intermetropolitan and international migratory flows in Canada Using the Conditional logit model, this paper deals with the main determinants of migrations within 25 Canadian Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs), and the huge concentration of Immigrants in the three biggest CMAs. The outcomes are as follow : - three variables, Population, Distance and Language provide the best explanation for migrations within the 25 CMAs ; and - only variable Population explains better the huge concentration of Immigrants in the three biggest CMAs (Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver).
