Cet article montre comment les agents immobiliers contribuent à l'élaboration des choix résidentiels tout en ouvrant une réflexion plus large sur le rôle des tiers dans la recherche de logement. Bien qu'ils aient plutôt été abordés sous l'angle de leur rôle dans la ségrégation spatiale, nous abordons ici les tiers dans une autre perspective en voyant comment ils participent à l'élaboration de la demande de logement. Sur la base d'une observation ethnographique menée à Lyon nous mettons ainsi en évidence la façon dont les intermédiaires construisent le cadre de représentation qui préside à la construction d'un projet résidentiel. Third Party in Housing Choices: How Real Estate Agents Shape the Demand on Housing Market This article shows how real estate agents take part in residential choices. It also initiates a wider discussion on the role of intermediaries in the housing search process. In spite of the fact that they often have been described as “gatekeepers” or as factors of social or ethnic discrimination, we explore here another direction to see how they help to define the needs and expectations of home seekers and to bind them to the characteristics of the homes for sale.
