| Résumé | LA « PURIFICATION ETHNIQUE » DANS LA PRESSE. AVÈNEMENT ET PROPAGATION D'UNE FORMULE L'expression « purification ethnique » est apparue dans le discours de presse à l'été 1992. En analysant la mise en œuvre de cette expression dans un corpus de presse, on observe, d'une part, que la « purificiation ethnique » a constitué un mot-évènement, c'est-à-dire un événement dans le monde des objets langagiers, d'autre part, qu'elle constitue un mot-attracteur, c'est-à-dire une catégorie nouvelle disponible pour la description du monde. | |
| Résumé anglais | «ETHNIC CLEANSING» IN THE PRESS. THE APPEARANCE AND PROPAGATION OF A FORMULA The expression « ethnic cleansing » appeared in the press during the summer of 1992. In analyzing the use of this expression in a corpus of press articles, one observes two main features : on the one hand, this phrase constituted a word-event, i.e., an event in the world of linguistic objects ; on the other, it constituted an attractor-word, i.e. a new category for describing the world. | |
