Dans le théâtre « postdramatique », le discours théâtral peut devenir le lieu même de la dramaturgie, non pas de manière externe, explicite, mais dans sa trame même et dans sa substance. Ce sont les traces de cette dramaturgie inscrite dans le langage même du théâtre jelinekien que cette contribution essaie de repérer, à partir du texte Über Tiere. Il s'agit au passage de s'interroger sur le devenir (la préservation ?) de ce principe d'écriture/dramaturgie, les incidences de ces évolutions en matière de traduction. En intégrant l'analyse d'une traduction très récente, à savoir Animaux (Über Tiere, trad. Dieter Hornig/Patrick Démerin, Verdier 2012), nous nous proposons d'interroger la complexification de l'écriture jelinekienne et les difficultés de sa transposition en français. Cette complexification met notamment en jeu un discours de plus en plus dense où les métaphores et calembours sont des constituants essentiels du texte. Mais dans la mesure où ils jouent fortement sur des détournements de signification, mais aussi de signifiés, on peut légitimement s'interroger sur la possibilité de leur transposition et donc la possibilité même de la restitution de ce principe d'écriture en français – qui semble malgré tout se vérifier et valider la transférabilité de la dimension dramaturgique de ce théâtre. Theatrical discourse in « post-dramatic » theatre can become the very core of a drama that unfolds neither externally nor explicitly, but within the texture and substance of the language itself. Focusing on Über Tiere, this essay attempts to trace the dramaturgical essence inscribed within the very language of Jelinek's drama, examining the transformation (or preservation?) of the principle of « language versus dramaturgy » in the translation process. Through an analysis of a recent French translation – Animaux (Über Tiere, trans. Dieter Hornig & Patrick Démerin, Verdier 2012) –, this article studies the complexification of Jelinek's writing, which is marked by an ever denser theatrical discourse made up essentially of metaphors and double entendres, and the difficulty of translating it into French. Since the text relies so heavily on the displacement of both signifier and signified, it is the very feasibility of rendering such linguistic material in translation that may be put into question; however, in the end, the transposition of the play's writing appears possible, proving the transferability of Jelinek's dramaturgical essence.
