De nouvelles relations ? L'entrée en vigueur des accords de Paris, le 5 mai 1955, marque la normalisation des relations entre la France et la République fédérale d'Allemagne, qui acquiert sa souveraineté. Ce changement est visible à Bonn à travers la transformation du Haut-Commissariat français en ambassade. La disparition du Haut-Commissariat était programmée depuis longtemps, mais toute l'année 1955 sera nécessaire pour que la mission diplomatique française s'adapte au nouveau contexte international. L'ambassade devient alors un outil de la réconciliation franco-allemande, participant à la résolution des derniers litiges entre les deux pays, en particulier l'affaire sarroise, et jetant les bases d'une coopération dans tous les domaines, qui ne cessera de se développer jusqu'à aujourd'hui. De nouvelles relations ? The coming into force of the agreements of Paris, on May 5, 1955, marked the normalization of relations between France and the Federal Republic of Germany, which acquired its sovereignty. This change was noticeable in Bonn through the transformation of the French High Commissioner ship into an embassy. The disappearance of the High Commissioner ship was planned a long time ago, and yet all of 1955 will be necessary for the French diplomatic mission to adapt itself to the new international context. The embassy became then a tool of Franco-German reconciliation and took part in the resolution of the last contentious issues between the two countries, in particular the problem of the Saar.
