Résumé anglais Acknowledged as a science fiction novel, Azote, written by Nestor Ponce investigates the past in the light of an apocalyptic future as a consequence of a long era of violence. Buenos Aires and La Plata, the towns where most of the action takes place still bear the scars of those painful years. The 1976 military putsch is still looming in the people's minds. Azote the eponymous tag of the novel drawn on the city walls turns the town into a living suffering organism unable to hide its wounds. The matter is not only to delve into the past with the purpose of understanding the present time but the aim is also to make of writing a space of resistance with a capacity to face up to the future.
