Résumé anglais The transmission of the love of singing Cries, oratory and complaints in an ordinary Mongolian family Travelers, authors and scholars have often noted Mongolians' love of singing. Is this an enduring cultural feature? If this is the case, how is it passed on from generation to generation?. In this paper I show how the rediscovery and reconstruction of the love of song by each new generation is anchored in sequences of daily life in which adults draw the attention of children to the potential of the human voice. I base my analysis on the work of James J. Gibson and Tim Ingold on the education of attention. Such an approach avoids the common opposition between education and imitation. It enables me to show the link that exists between song and the emotional coloring so characteristic of rural Mongolia.
