À partir de l'analyse d'une photographie insérée par l'architecte Herman Hertzberger dans ses Leçons d'architecture, ce texte propose quelques commentaires sur les formes de l'habiter humain. Il aborde successivement la dialectique de l'intérieur et de l'extérieur, la question du temps et celle de l'espacement. Il souligne l'importance, pour toute réflexion sur l'habiter, de la référence à quatre auteurs : Ivan Illich, John Brinckerhoff Jackson, Tim Ingold, et Richard Sennett. Analysis of a photograph inserted by architect Herman Hertzberger in his Leçons d'architecture, is used as a basis for observations on the different modes of human dwelling. The article tackles the dialectic of interior and exterior, the questions of time and spacing. It highlights the importance, for any examination of the notion of dwelling, of making reference to four authors : Ivan Illich, John Brinckerhoff Jackson, Tim Ingold, and Richard Sennett.
