Cet article propose une lecture de l'habitation (considérée comme l'action d'habiter) à partir du concept d'expérience. Celui-ci, considéré de manière globale, recouvre l'ensemble des interactions entre l'individu agissant et le monde. La spatialité constitue alors la dimension spatiale de cette expérience en même temps que le vecteur de la construction, au quotidien, de l'habitat — c'est-à-dire l'ensemble des espaces-temps de vie propre à chaque humain. Le texte développe cette approche en partant d'une photographie ordinaire, profane, au sens où elle n'a pas de valeur scientifique intrinsèque. Elle forme pourtant un concept-en-image qui permet de modéliser l'expérience habitante et de lancer des réflexions, en particulier, sur la relation opérateur-objet-environnement qui se tient au cœur de la spatialité, ainsi que sur l'importance de la mise en tension de l'ancrage et de l'ouverture au sein de l'habitation. This article proposes an interpretation of dwelling (considered as the action of dwell) starting from the concept of experience. The concept, generally speaking, covers the whole set of interactions between the individual effecting the action and the world. The spatiality then constitutes the spatial dimension of this experience at the same time as the vector of the daily construction of the habitat — that is all the space-time of life situations that are particular to each human. The article develops this approach starting from a photograph, quite ordinary and profane in the sense that it has no intrinsic scientific value. However, it does form an image-concept which allows modelling of the dwelling experience and provides the ingredients for making observations. This is particularly the case for the operator-object-environment relationship which prevails at the core of the spatiality, as well as for the significance of the tension between the action of laying roots and opening-up within that of dwelling.
