Le travail du philosophe et écologiste David Abram est traversé par une importante proposition politique : la résistance pratique à la destruction des mondes et des possibilités de vivre sur terre suppose de réintensifier et de redéployer les expériences d'animation réciproque dont se nourrit notre participation à la vie des êtres et des choses. Une telle proposition implique de s'opposer aux récits absurdes et dévastateurs affirmant une séparation entre les humains et la terre environnante. Il n'est donc nullement question de « revenir » à une terre que personne n'a jamais quittée, mais bien de redéployer un savoir commun pourtant menacé : nous ne pensons et ne vivons qu'en rapport et en communication avec d'autres intelligences terrestres. An important political proposition permeates the work of philosopher and ecologist David Abram : practical resistance to the destruction of worlds and possibilities of living on earth involves reintensifying and redeploying the reciprocal experiences that are vital to our participation in the lives of beings and things. This proposition implies opposing the absurd and devastating stories that assume humans are separate from the surrounding earth. The point is then in no way to “return” to an earth nobody ever left, but is certainly to redeploy a common, but threatened, knowledge : we think and live only through relationships and communication with other earthly intelligences.
