Nous questionnons ici la fonction paternelle à l'île de la Réunion. Nous pensons que le contexte sociétal d'hier et d'aujourd'hui a façonné un « être père » qui n'est pas sans conséquences psychopathologiques sur la vie de famille : une absence du père et de sa loi, à la fois cause et conséquence d'une matrifocalité et d'un climat intra-familial incestuel, transmis trans-générationnellement. Being father at La Reunion : Theoretical reflections Ethno- psychoanalytic approachWe question here the paternal function in the Reunion Island. We think that the societal context of yesterday and today shaped one “to be a father” wich is not without psychopathological consequences on the familly life : an absence of the father and his law, cause and consequence at the same time of a matrifocality, an intra-family incestual feeling, transmitted through the generations.
