Vers la fin du XIXe siècle, Strasbourg et Poznań deviennent capitales des territoires annexés de l'Empire allemand (1871-1918) et doivent jouer un rôle représentatif pour soutenir les prétentions impériales du gouvernement allemand. Cet article analyse dans un premier temps le contexte de la construction des extensions urbaines (wilhelmiennes) à Strasbourg et à Poznań. Puis il compare les processus complexes de l'appropriation de l'héritage « allemand » en France et en Pologne après 1918, en confrontant la perception et le maniement des traces urbanistiques et des architectures à Strasbourg et à Poznań. By the end of the nineteenth century Strasbourg and Poznan became capital-cities of annexed territories of the German empire (1871-1918). They should perform a representative role in the respective border regions and underline the claim of power of the German Emperor. The article analyses at first the context of the construction of the urban extensions (in the Wilhelminian style) in Strasbourg and in Poznan. Thereafter, the complex processes of the appropriation of the ‘German' heritage after 1918 will be explored in France and in Poland on the basis of a comparison of the perception and the handling of the architectural traces and city-planning conceptions in Strasbourg and in Poznan.
