La transmission est un processus tantôt conscient, tantôt inconscient. L'auteur en examine les différentes facettes. Différents types d'identifications la rendent possible : identifications aux surmoi et idéal du moi des parents, introjections des devises familiales, identifications aux désirs des parents ou des grands-parents ainsi qu'aux objets qui les causent. L'auteur envisage aussi la transmission énigmatique et souvent pathogène des secrets de famille ainsi que la transmission du désir de l'analyste comme vecteur essentiel de la formation du psychanalyste. Transmission is a process sometimes conscious, sometimes subconscious. The author examines its various facets. Different types of identifications make this possible: identifications with the superego and ego ideal of the parents, introjections of family mottos; identifications with the desires of the parents and grand-parents as well as with the objects that have caused them.
