Dès ses premiers écrits, Axel Honneth a situé ses travaux dans le cadre d'une reconstruction des contenus moraux de l'expérience négative et des potentiels de conflictualité ancrés dans cette dernière. Ce projet a pris la forme d'une théorie des luttes pour la reconnaissance qui, sans porter sur l'espace public, s'avère fertile pour mener une critique immanente de la communication sociale. La mise au jour critique des formes de mépris, d'invisibilité et de réification s'opère ainsi à partir des exigences de reconnaissance contenues en creux dans les processus communicationnels. Immanent critique of social communication From his first writings, Axel Honneth situated his work in the framework of a reconstruction of the moral content of negative experience and the potential for conflict that was rooted therein. This project developed into a theory of struggles for recognition which, without focusing on the public sphere, proved fertile when applied to immanent critique of social communication. Critical scrutiny of forms of contempt, invisibility and reification were thus shown to stem from demands for recognition implicit in communication processes.
