L'approche communicationnelle au cours du XXe siècle a permis d'analyser et de comprendre la place et la fonction du document. Trois logiques prédominaient alors : centripétrique, accessibilité et physique. Le début du XXIe siècle ouvre de nouvelles perspectives par les considérations cognitives et anthropologiques du document, où fondamentalement celui-ci est considéré comme un espace et un prétexte à la communication. The impact of communication in understanding a document The communicational approach that developed in the 20th century was applied to analyse and understand the role and the function of documents. The logic they obeyed was then threefold : they were centripetal, accessible and physical. The 21st century brought new perspectives, with documents considered from cognitive and anthropological angles, in which they are basically seen as a space and a pretext for communication.
