| Résumé |
L'étude raisonnée de la tradition manuscrite des œuvres de saint Thomas, menée par la Commission Léonine depuis sa fondation, est à l'origine d'un renouvellement considérable de l'approche de l'œuvre du maître dominicain. Elle a permis de confirmer la liste des œuvres authentiques, d'en restaurer le texte déformé par de multiples blessures au cours des siècles, et aussi d'esquisser, grâce notamment à l'examen graphologique des manuscrits autographes, le profil personnel de Thomas écrivain. Les conditions de travail du théologien ont été élucidées et la signification de son entreprise a pu être située dans les enjeux d'une époque. Si l'accès aux données objectives de l'histoire semble avoir affranchi la réception de l'œuvre des polémiques issues de la Réforme, il pose également de nouvelles conditions aux thomismes d'aujourd'hui. Les nombreuses traductions d'œuvres de saint Thomas d'après le texte de l'édition léonine sont un signe supplémentaire de l'actuel renouvellement de sa lecture et de sa diffusion. The Renewal of the of the reading and diffusion of the works of St. Thomas Aquinas The critical study of the manuscript tradition of St. Thomas' works, undertaken by the Leonine Commission since its foundation, lies at the origin of a considerably renewed approach to the Dominican master's corpus. It has permitted the confirmation of the list of authentic works and the restoration of the text, skewed as it was by numerous wounds inflicted over the centuries. Thanks notably to graphological examination of the autographs, it has also allowed the sketching of the personal profile of St. Thomas as a writer. The conditions under which the Theologian worked have been elucidated, and situating the significance of his undertaking within the context of the concerns of his time has been made possible. If access to the objective data seems to have freed the reception of the corpus from the polemics of the Reformation, it also presents the Thomisms of our time with new conditions. The numerous translations of St. Thomas' works according to the texts of the Leonine editions are yet another sign of the present renewal of their reading and diffusion.
