| Résumé |
Le but de cette recherche-action, réalisée auprès de professionnels travaillant dans un foyer socio-éducatif pour personnes en situation de handicap, était d'identifier les pratiques de l'entraide, de les théoriser et de développer un dispositif de formation. La démarche méthodologique inductive a consisté à collecter des exemples d'entraide pour les analyser et théoriser la notion d'entraide. Par la confrontation de ces exemples, huit éléments de définition de l'entraide, situés aux niveaux micro-, meso- ou macro-social, ont été identifiés. L'approche « située » de l'entraide ainsi dégagée montre la nécessité de considérer toute activité d'entraide en contexte. Au plan pratique, cette approche entend fournir aux professionnels les moyens d'analyser leurs pratiques et de faire face à la part d'improvisation propre à tout métier. Mutual help in institutions for persons in situation of mental handicap : From research-action to a model of analysisThis action-research was carried out with practitioners working in a socio-educational home for persons with disabilities, and aimed at identifying practices of mutual help, conceptualising them and developing a training programme. The methodological inductive procedure consisted of collecting examples of mutual help in order to analyse them and conceptualise the notion of mutual help. By confronting the collected examples, eight elements defining mutual help and pertaining to the micro-, meso- and macro-social levels were identified. This situated approach of mutual help shows that mutual help is a complex contextualised activity. On a practical level, it seeks to provide practitioners with analytical tools that enable them to analyse their practices and cope with the improvisation part inherent in any professional practice.
