Cette contribution décrit le phrasé et l'accentuation du français parlé au Burundi (FBI), en cherchant à savoir quels aspects sont redevables à la L1 de ses locuteurs (le kirundi) et quels aspects rapprochent le français parlé au Burundi du français langue-cible. Nous faisons l'hypothèse que les éléments qui existent aussi bien en français qu'en kirundi sont facilement réintégrés par les locuteurs du FBI. Les résultats présentés et discutés dans cet article montrent que les locuteurs du FBI segmentent leur discours en syntagmes accentuels semblables à ceux du français langue-cible. Cette tendance est analysée comme un transfert positif du kirundi, dans lequel le phrasé est régi par certaines contraintes identiques à celles en français langue-cible, notamment la contrainte de contour obligatoire. The aim of this paper is to describe phrasing and accentuation of the variety of French spoken in Burundi (FBI), with focus on the aspects that are either transfers from the speakers' L1, Kirundi, or that are similar to target French. Our hypothesis was that elements that exist both in target French and in Kirundi will be present in FBI. The results presented and discussed in this paper show that speakers of FBI segment their discourse in accentual phrases that are similar to those in target French. This tendency is analyzed as a positive transfer from Kirundi, where the formation of accentual phrases is determined by some of the same constraints as in target French, namely the obligatory contour constraint.
