Tel-Aviv, après sa création en 1909, continue son essor jusque dans les années 1930-1948 marquées par l'architecture moderne et la construction de la Ville blanche, sous l'influence de l'urbaniste Patrick Geddes. Il avait rédigé un rapport sur la ville en 1925, basé sur ses théories de l'évolution et ses recherches en biologie organique. La déclaration d'indépendance d'Israël en 1948 et les grandes vagues d'immigration entraînent des changements dans la physionomie d'une ville contrainte de s'adapter aux facteurs physiques et culturels nouveaux. La prise de conscience de l'importance de la conservation de la Ville blanche et sa patrimonialisation engendrent à leur tour d'autres changements d'un tissu urbain et d'une architecture uniques, établis selon les principes urbanistiques préconisés par Geddes dans son rapport. After its creation in 1909, the city of Tel-Aviv continued to develop until the years 1930-1948 during which the Modern style was predominant. The White City was constructed under the guidelines of Patrick Geddes. His vision for the city was published in 1925, inspired by his theories on the evolution of nature and the city as an organic system of adaptation. The Declaration of independence of the state of Israel in 1948 and the new waves of immigration, brought the need for quick adaptation: changes and planned solutions for the new needs of the community. The awareness and importance of the conservation of the White City and its architecture brought about secondary significant changes in the local approach towards the existing urban tissue, and its architecture (1977-2003).
