Cet article porte sur deux constructions comparatives, comme + SN, Adj comme SN et SN comme SN, qui expriment grammaticalement la scalarité et, de plus, passent, suivant les interprétations, de l'expression d'un degré relatif à un étalon à l'expression d'un degré absolu, du plus haut degré. On montre tout d'abord que l'interprétation intensive d'Adj comme SN relève de la construction elle-même (du type de SN en particulier) et que SN comme SN, toujours intensif, maintient une ambiguïté fondamentale quant à sa référence. On insiste ensuite sur le rôle du SN et sur la charge appréciative qu'il acquiert, et on donne un panorama des niveaux de scalarité des différentes constructions dans leurs différentes interprétations. This article deals with two comparative constructions, comme + SN, Adj comme SN and SN comme SN, which express scalarity grammatically and, furthermore, pass, depending on the interpretations, from the expression of a degree concerning a standard to the expression of an absolute degree, of the highest degree. First of all we show that the extensive interpretation of Adj comme SN results from the very construction (particularly of the type of SN) and that SN comme SN, always extensive, maintains a fundamental ambiguity for its reference. We insist then on the role of the SN and on the appreciative load that it acquires, and we give a panorama of the levels of scalarity of the various constructions in their various interpretations.
