Réputée représentative du « parler jeune » et du français oral, la construction Adj de chez adj (gris de chez gris) est d'autant plus intéressante d'un point de vue strictement linguistique qu'elle est pour le moins inattendue, compte tenu des contraintes syntaxiques du français. Pour en comprendre l'émergence, il est nécessaire de s'interroger sur son histoire de manière à repérer ce qui, à partir d'une construction à fonction de localisation, fortement contrainte au niveau du verbe-recteur et de la nature du complément, a «permis» syntaxiquement l'apparition de l'adjectif et sémantiquement l'expression de l'intensité. Considered representative of “young people” and of Spoken French, the structure adj de chez adj (gris de chez gris) (similar to the English expression : adj as in adj (bad as in bad)) is all the more interesting from a strictly linguistic point of view that it is, at the very least, unexpected taking into account the syntactic constraints of French. To understand its emergence, it is necessary to look at its evolution and to understand how this construction, which initially expressed spatial localization and was strongly constrained by its governing verb and the semantics of its complement, came to allow an adjective to appear after the preposition and a semantics of intensity.
