Taking the example of the French word « clé », the author argues that such a word is neither concrete nor abstract, massive or countable in itself, and should not be analysed through a reference to an object of the world. The function of a name is to allow, through its different uses, various types of embodiment of a notion, which remains in itself inaccessible.
