This article puts forward a systematic description of prefixed verbs that include the prefix sous- (about 20 items). Starting from an hypothesis on the semantic identity of sous (defined in terms of "schematic form"), the author brings out, in the first section, the semantic properties at work in the various verbs built with this prefix. The second section works out an analysis of the combination prefix-base, which is bound to take into account the lexical and syntaxical properties or the items at stake in this combination. Theses properties can only be unserstood through the interaction with other items of the proposition. In the conclusion, the author suggests that this approach can be generalised to the prefixation of other types of words, such as nouns and adjectives. Source : Éditeur (via Persée) |
