L'article pose le problème d'une tradition révolutionnaire, à savoir la transmission des idéaux d'égalité et de liberté ainsi que les pratiques démocratiques dans lesquelles ils s'articulent. On interroge la manière dont la sociologie française, dans son surgissement, a élaboré une telle problématique en altérant la perspective de la philosophie politique elle-même. L'article se concentre sur la théorie de l'histoire développée par Saint-Simon pour penser la Révolution dans sa signification sociale et pour comprendre la nature des blocages historiques qui entravaient la réorganisation de la société post-révolutionnaire. C'est notamment la conception saint-simonienne du conflit social qui est analysée dans ses rapports à un savoir proto-sociologique prétendant orienter la politique. The article focuses on the problem of a revolutionary tradition, namely the transmission of the ideals of equality and freedom and the transmission of the democratic practices articulating them. We analyse the way in which French sociology, at its beginning, elaborated this problem by transforming political philosophy itself. The article focuses on Saint-Simon theory of history developed to understand the Revolution social meaning and the nature of the historical blockages obstructing the reorganization of post-revolutionary society.
