To answer the question « Do awarded high tech start up projects show specific characteristics? » we selected amongst those projects the ones showing the best results according to the DEMA assessment model (Scoring equal or superior to 75 / 100).Results show awarded projects obtain a high scoring on the four model dimensions (Project holder psychological characteristics, company Environment, Management characteristics, Activity)The common point between these high performing projects holders is a very high score dealing with the “Management characteristics” variable.Awarded project holders belong to every discipline (from biotechnologies to information technologies)New venture funding is said to be difficult or very difficult.High performing project holders have significantly funded their new business with personal equity funds.
