Michel Rocard a toujours eu un rapport complexe avec le Parti socialiste. Scissionniste avec le PSU (1960), il s'est trouvé marginalisé au sein du PS après l'avoir rejoint. L'essentiel de sa carrière s'est joué autour de la tension entre la volonté de conquérir l'appareil partisan et la distinction qui lui permit d'asseoir un succès sondagier sans égal. Michel Rocard has always had a complex rapport with the Parti socialiste. Splitting to form the PSU (1960), he found himself marginalised in the PS once he returned. In essence, his career played out around the tension between the will to conquer the partisan machinery and the distinction which allowed him to have unrivalled success in the polls.
