Ferdinand Tönnies, auteur de Communauté et société (1887), est l'un des pères-fondateurs de la sociologie allemande. Son concept de communauté est toujours actuel bien que la sociologie moderne, après 1945, l'ait écartée et se soit concentrée sur l'étude de la société. Ferdinand Tönnies, the author of Community and Society (1887) is one of the founding fathers of German sociology. His concept of community is still up-to-date in spite of the fact that, after 1945, modern sociology marginalized it and focused on society– studies.
