Le négationnisme et le complotisme apparaissent tous deux comme des discours relevant de la désinformation. Ils sont aussi liés intimement et historiquement. La négation du génocide des juifs, inaugurée par Maurice Bardèche trois ans après la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, installe au centre de son « argumentaire » un prétendu « complot juif international » qui aurait fabriqué de toutes pièces cette « escroquerie du xxe siècle » dans le but de justifier l'existence de l'État d'Israël et d'extorquer des réparations à l'Allemagne. Les idéologues Robert Faurisson et Roger Garaudy, suivis par leurs héritiers politiques, font « évoluer » le négationnisme en le sortant de la confidentialité et en lui donnant un écho international. Une galaxie agrégeant conspirationnistes et négationnistes émergea dans le sillage des attentats du 11 septembre 2001. Sur fond d'anti-impérialisme, d'anticapitalisme, d'antiaméricanisme et d'antisionisme, elle réactualise un discours antisémite qui place en son cœur la dénonciation du « pouvoir juif ». Holocaust denial and Conspiracism: typical examples of Disinformation Holocaust denial and conspiracism are both typical examples of disinformation. They are also intimately and historically linked. The denial of the genocide of the Jews, inaugurated by Maurice Bardèche three years after the end of the Second World War, installs at the center of its discourse a so-called « international Jewish conspiracy » that would have fabricated this « xxth Century Hoax » in order to justify the existence of the State of Israel and extort reparations payments to Germany. The ideologists Robert Faurisson and Roger Garaudy, followed by their political heirs, cast « to evolve » the denialism taking it out of the confidentiality and giving it an international echo. A galaxy combining conspiracy theorists and Holocaust denials emerged following the attacks of September 11, 2001. Against the backdrop of anti-imperialism, anti-capitalism, anti-Americanism and anti-Zionism, it re-enacts an anti-Semitic discourse that places at its heart the denunciation of the « Jewish power ».
