L'article analyse la figure du nouveau pape, François, à partir d'une brève description du catholicisme argentin dont il est issu et de sa trajectoire en tant que Provincial des jésuites et Archevêque de la ville de Buenos Aires. Il approfondit l'analyse du conflit avec les prêtres jésuites E. Jalics et A. Yorio lors de la dictature civico-militaire-religieuse (1976-1983). Son passé, la crise globale du catholicisme, la démission sans précédent de Benoît XVI, la place de la papauté et l'état du Vatican, le charisme de la fonction, les médias, le capitalisme mondial et le temps sont des facteurs pris en compte vers l'avenir. The Argentinean Catholicism of Bergoglio and the papacy of Francis. A first approach from Argentina. The paper analyses the figure of the new pope Francisco, as a member of Argentine Catholicism to which it belongs and from his career as provincial of the Jesuits and archbishop of the Buenos Aires city. Specifically, it explores the conflict with Jalics and Yorio Jesuit priests, under his authority during the civil-military-religious dictatorship (1976-1983).
