ResuméCet article étudie le rôle du séminaire de recherche au sein de la théorie communicationnelle de la société défendue par Habermas et Ferry. Il démontre que ce rôle est largement conditionné par le contexte historique dans lequel le philosophe agit et réfléchit en explorant les séminaires de Habermas aux débuts des années 1970 et ceux de Ferry aux débuts des années 2010. Malgré tout, le séminaire apparaît comme un lieu d'élaboration et de stabilisation de la pensée permettant à l'historien des idées d'éclairer partiellement le processus de fabrication de la philosophie. En même temps, le séminaire constitue un lieu de socialisation à une école de pensée et de diffusion de celle-ci reflétant la mutation des impératifs pesant sur la recherche académique. Toward a Communicative Theory of Society. Jürgen Habermas's and Jean-Marc Ferry's Seminars as a Building Conceptual DeviceThis article focuses on the role of the research seminar in the development of the communicative theory of society supported by Habermas and Ferry. Contrasting Habermas's seminars in the early 1970s and the Ferry's Seminars in the early 2010s, this article shows that the historical context have a great influence on the way of acting and thinking of the philosopher. Nevertheless, the Seminar appears as a place of elaboration and stabilization of the thought allowing the historians of ideas to light up partially the making of philosophy. The Seminar is also a place of socialization to a theoretical school and a distribution channel for this intellectual tradition in relation to the changing imperative driving the academic field.
