Cet article propose un état des lieux des analyses concernant les unions « interraciales » au Brésil. Il s'agit de comparer les différentes approches : d'abord ethnographiques des années 1930 aux années 1980 puis démographiques par la suite et de critiquer certaines de leurs limites. Une recherche empirique personnelle est utilisée ainsi pour montrer l'intérêt de raisonner en termes d'écarts phénotypiques et non plus en termes de barrières entre groupes. La conclusion rappelle l'intérêt qu'il y aurait à rapprocher les perspectives ethnographiques et démographiques. Source : Éditeur (via Cairn.info) |

“Interracial” unions in Brazil. Demographic evolutions and sociological interpretations This article proposes a complete description of the many sociological analyses concerning “interracial” unions in Brazil. The goal is to compare the various approaches: at first ethnographical from the 1930s to the 1980s, then demographic afterward and to criticize some of their limits. A personal empirical research is also used to show the interest to think in terms of phenotypic distance rather than in terms of barriers between groups.
